WHAT THE ROLE DELIVERS 

The Senior Sourcing Manager will manage and support supplier contract/price negotiations, including preparation of tender documents and evaluation of the bid documents. Negotiate the optimization/extension of existing contracts and catalogs, including the generation of new contracts and catalogs. Dollars range up to $30 MM/year. You will analyze the category/procurement groups responsible, implement and evaluate the risk analyses and supplier assessments along with developing the KPI-based strategic objectives. The sourcing manager will also develop, plan and implement measures for the procurement groups responsible within the framework of the procurement strategy, to increase/maintain competition, secure supply, increase efficiency, and raise potential savings. This role is the contact person for strategic supplier relationship, as well as first escalation stage in event and complaint management. 

WHAT YOU WILL DO 

  • This position will have executive procurement responsibility for complex categories/procurement groups of indirect goods and services while considering quality, safety, sustainability, the environment, as well as time & cost efficiency. 

  • To develop and implement procurement strategies including optimized options for future supply or demand development, in coordination with internal users and in alignment with organization’s overall objectives as well as considering market place developments. 

  • Have in-dept knowledge of all aspects of technical and operational procurement activities such as but not limited to: SAP, capital goods/services, MRO(Maintenance, repair, and operating suppliers), supplier contracts, tenders/RFQ, consumables and other professional services. 

  • Provide visionary leadership to team members by supporting and coaching team members. 

  • Ensure constructive and solution-oriented relationships with internal customers as well as suppliers. 

  • The KPI's for the function are established and fulfilled at best-in-class level. 

  • That business is conducted in accordance with procedures and guidelines set forth in the ISO Quality and Environmental Management System as well as RC 14001 Management System. 

  • Hiring, training, developing and managing the Technical Procurement team. Appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.  

The Senior Sourcing Manager will coordinate activities with the Sourcing Manager for Technical Procurement to ensure: 

  • The Regional Procurement organization develops and executes strategies in alignment with global Procurement 

  • The regional implementation of global Procurement initiatives 

  • This individual will work to ensure a sustainable competitive cost advantage to new and existing businesses throughout the region.  

  • The security of supply as well as a continuous value contribution through the procurement function. 

  • Hiring, training, developing and managing the Technical Procurement team. Appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.  

WHAT WE ARE SEEKING 

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree required (Technical Degree Preferred), with 10 yrs. purchasing experience in a related field of expertise, or in other fields with focus on internal and/or external customers. 

  • Purchases MRO/capital goods up to $30MM, in order to fulfill the short and long-term requirements of the Business segments in North America. 

  • Must possess exemplary leadership skills including strategic thinking, analytical decision making, communication, adaptability and strong team building abilities.

  • Preferred knowledge of business law, accounting principles, state tax laws, "Occupational Safety & Health Act" (OSHA), "Environmental Protection Agency" (EPA) and state licensing regulations, as well as a basic understanding of Quality Management Systems.
