WHAT THE ROLE DELIVERS
This role places you at the heart of Roehm’s cutting‑edge Innovation Center, where you will transform ideas into reality through hands‑on material processing and sample preparation. You will play a vital role in advancing both existing product optimization and new product development within a state‑of‑the‑art R&D workshop. By delivering high‑quality, reliable results, you’ll directly support global growth strategies across Medical, Automotive, and LEOD market segments
WHAT YOU WILL DO
- Perform daily material processing activities—including drying, weighing, mixing, staging, and compounding—leveraging single- and twin‑screw extruders and following established work processes.
- Independently start up, operate, troubleshoot, and shut down process‑related equipment safely and efficiently.
- Prepare lab and customer specimens using injection molding, compression molding, film extrusion, and related equipment.
- Conduct process optimization and problem‑solving alongside the technical team to improve quality and equipment performance.
- Perform tooling changes, set‑ups, calibrations, and routine equipment maintenance within the workshop.
- Manage raw materials, including shipping/receiving, inventory cycle counting, and updating records in SAP.
- Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives that elevate workshop efficiency, documentation quality, and operational excellence.
- Support site safety, environmental, and ergonomics programs, maintaining a strong culture of safety and compliance.
Salary range $70,000 - $105,000 per year. The posted salary range reflects the local geographic average for this role. Final compensation may vary based on experience and qualifications. This role is eligible for an annual performance bonus in addition to base salary.

WHAT WE ARE SEEKING
Education: Minimum of associate degree in plastics/polymer engineering, mechanical engineering, chemical engineering, or a related technical discipline.
Experience:
- 1–3 years of hands‑on experience in injection molding and/or extrusion (compounding).
- 1–3 years of R&D or relevant plastics/polymer processing experience.
- Preferred experience with PMMA, tooling, equipment, ASTM/ISO standards, and basic material analysis (e.g., moisture, MFR).
Technical Skills: Strong capability in processing equipment, troubleshooting, equipment maintenance, and adherence to SOPs in a regulated environment (GLP experience is a plus).
Professional Skills: High self‑motivation, strong quality and safety mindset, ability to manage multiple projects, excellent communication skills, and comfort working independently or as part of a diverse team.
Computer Skills: Proficient in Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and capable of reading/writing standard work instructions.
